Mother’s Day Celebration

Keeping with tradition, the Boys School celebrated Mother’s Day on Thursday, May 9 with a student lunch and orchestra performances, along with a speech by 5-6 Grade core teacher Ms. Moore and a rose giving ceremony by the sophomores, juniors, and seniors. On this occasion, we had the chance to thank our school’s honorable mothers as representation of the all the mothers of humankind.

Freshmen Trip to Santa Rosa

Two weeks before the Ten Thousand Buddhas Jeweled Repentance, Justin brought the Class of 2022 on a final trip to Santa Rosa. After an hour-long drive, the freshmen arrived at Vertex Rock Climbing.

MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge

On a cloudy March morning, a group of four Honors Discrete Math Boys School Students gathered inside the Odyssey II Building at 7:00 am to participate in the M3 Mathematical Modelling Challenge. The challenge, spanning 14 consecutive hours, exhausted the wits and the patience of the four students.

Celebrating the New Year in Oakland

The in-school Chinese New Year Celebration, an integral tradition of the boys school, occurred on February 5th, 2019, and, just as the ambiance of festivity began to falter, the boys school revived the spirit of the New Year in the bay area later that week.

Boys Residence Hall: Snow Day!

A clear sky spelled the end of a gloomy and downcast week. The Boy
School Residence Hall students eagerly packed the van for a trip to Cow Mountain. From the bottom, the apex seemed only slightly dotted with specks of leftover snow, yet a whole new world manifested before their eyes upon arrival.
