This year, we could not continue the annual tradition of Halloween celebration of DVBS due to COVID-19 restrictions, but Boys School Residence Hall still had a celebration with savory food, sweet dessert, and a plethora of fun. On Friday, October 29, Mrs. Lau prepared delicious burgers and crunchy fries. The students were filled with joy as they quickly devoured their food.

On Thursday, November 4, after 90 minutes of Chinese Orchestra practice, students gathered in the backyard and had an eventful bonfire. Mr. Masera brought some honey graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate chips to the bonfire. The students then made mouth-watering s’mores out of the blazing fire. Afterwards, the students enjoyed performances from their fellow schoolmates. Alston Liu (12) played the guitar and sang a number of melodious songs, while Jevon Ji (8) performed two shrill and brassy pieces on his saxophone. The bonfire ended with Dr. Vega telling spooky ghosts stories, and they were so scary some students had troubles falling asleep that night!
