“If you’re not having fun, you’re wasting your life.”
– random student
. . .
Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, the 3rd and 4th graders have been studying online for nearly a month. In order to help them feel connected to the school again, the upperclassmen decided to organize an event for their enjoyment. In the morning, after flag ceremony, 3rd-6th graders marched their way to the soccer field, and partook in entertaining children games such as red light green light, charades, duck duck goose, and a handful of other games. Unfortunately, time flies when you are having fun, and soon it was time for lunch.

In order to help them recuperate from the excruciating pain of school, 7th-12th graders also got the afternoon off. After lunch, the students gathered in the school library, and the event continued promptly. First, the students took part in an intense round of Scavenger Hunt. In three groups of five or six students, the students were given riddles that gave them hints to where the next clue was hidden. The boys charged through every corner they possibly could, and lively clamors even made Dharma Master Shun come out of his office!

Then, the students played several games of breathtaking (literally) infection tag. The rules were simple – the player selected to be “it” chases the others, attempting to tag one of them and infect them, as the others try to avoid being tagged. It was a devastating day for the “its”, since there were unable to completely tag all players in any of the rounds. The event concluded with thrilling games of dodgeball. The students went back and forth, exchanging vigorous throws at each other. In the end, the juniors and seniors played a 6 versus 12 game against the rest of the school, and easily took the victory in a dominant fashion.
