
Overview
We welcome school groups, educators, and community organizations to participate in our Field Trip Program, an educational experience designed to explore Buddhist culture and values while offering insight into daily life within a monastery.
What to Expect
During the visit, participants engage in a series of guided and experiential activities led by Instilling Goodness Developing Virtue School students, teachers, and volunteers. These include:
- A guided tour of the Hall of 10,000 Buddhas
- Observation of a traditional Buddhist ritual
- Introductory mindfulness practice
- A question-and-answer session
- A shared meal at the vegetarian restaurant
Schedule
Below is a schedule of a typical visit. Specific timing and activities may vary depending on availability and group needs.
- 10:00 am Arrival/Welcome/Restroom Break
- 10:30 am Observation of the “Gratitude” Ritual before lunch
- 11:00 am Mindfulness Practice & Question and Answer
- 11:30 am Lunch at the Vegetarian Restaurant on Campus
Optional Activities (Subject to availability)
Groups may request additional activities to enhance their visit, such as:
- Visit to the campus university art exhibit
- Storytelling session
- Scavenger hunt
Vegetarian Lunch
A vegetarian set lunch is available and recommended on our campus restaurant, as we follow strict dietary practices. The cost is $10.00 per person. Menu items include:
- Dumplings or Spring rolls
- Fried Rice
- Fried Noodles
- Sweet & Sour Soy Protein Balls
- Stir-Fry Broccoli
