On September 4, 2026, DVGS hosted its annual ASB welcome back event to celebrate the start of a new semester. The evening kicked off with a wonderful dinner featuring handmade pasta and onigiri, lovingly prepared by our seniors. The food was so good that many students eagerly lined up for seconds.

Afterward, everyone headed outside for an energetic game of hide-and-seek. The school’s rugged, wild terrain made finding hidden spots easy, but tagging our highly active students proved to be a real challenge! Laughter and excitement filled the air as players darted between trees and bushes to avoid being caught. Despite the difficulty of the chase, the interactive game brought everyone closer together and helped build lasting friendships.

To wrap up the night, we gathered in the school library to watch a movie. We shared late-night snacks, drinks, and plenty of laughs during the funny scenes, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere. At the same time, we appreciated the comfortable, quiet moment of the film, which reminded us that shared silence can just be as bonding as loud activities. The film sparked different thoughts and opinions, becoming the main topic of conversation for the rest of the night. It was a wonderful opportunity to truly bond before the heavy homework load sets in. As the movie ended and students headed upstairs to sleep, we left with memories we will always cherish.

We are deeply grateful to our seniors for organizing such a memorable event, and to the school for making it all possible!

Anna: I already miss the food! it was such an awesome experience, I would recommend it to my friends.
Miranda: The food was great and we had so much fun playing hide-and-seek, which served as a wonderful bonding activity. We also watched movies where we could all share our interests. Sleeping in the classroom that night was a really nice experience—it felt just like camping.
Kelly: It was so fun watching a great movie together. We also played hide-and-seek and the timing of everything was perfect. I love how engaged everyone was, which made the whole night so much more fun.
