Our 4th–6th graders had an amazing end-of-year field trip to Rancho Dolores last week, a special getaway filled with adventure, nature, and memorable experiences together as a class.
Students were warmly welcomed by the ranch’s friendly goats and dogs as soon as the cars arrived on site, setting the tone for a fun and memorable day outdoors.

Students enjoyed petting goats, sheep, and dogs, exploring the pond and creek, and spotting frogs, salamanders, tadpoles, and red-winged blackbirds. They also learned how to identify poison oak in different stages, from small young sprouts on the forest floor to mature shrubs. Students were especially interested to learn that goats can safely eat poison oak without being affected by it.

Many students tried the zipline for the first time, adding an exciting new challenge to their day.
The class also visited Montgomery Woods, where students explored the beauty of the towering redwood trees.

After returning from the day’s adventures, students enjoyed homemade popcorn and mango slushies together as a special treat.
A special thank-you to Ms. Olivia for generously opening her ranch to our students and helping create such a meaningful experience. Thank you as well to Ms. Olivia for driving and to Ms. Mark for organizing this wonderful end-of-year trip. It was a memorable way to celebrate the school year together.
