We were delighted to welcome children’s author Amy Rush Conroy to our school for a special visit with students. Amy shared her book, ¿Cómo te sientes?, a beginner reader in Spanish designed to help children build social-emotional literacy while developing language skills.

Even though many of our students do not come from a Spanish-speaking background, the book’s engaging illustrations and recognizable cognates between English and Spanish helped students connect with the story and appreciate the beauty of the language. Amy also shared her love of languages and travel, encouraging students to see bilingualism as a strength and an opportunity to connect with others.
Students were especially excited to have the opportunity to receive autographs from the author and ask questions about her work. It was Amy’s first visit to our campus, and she enjoyed exploring our beautiful school grounds and meeting our students.

A special thank-you to Amy Rush Conroy for making the trip to visit our school, and to Ms. Kravitz for organizing this meaningful event for our students and school community.
