On a sunny Friday, February 25th, DVGS had its annual field day on the last day of spirit week. A day filled with fun, sunshine, teamwork, and loud laughter. Students split into their houses: White Tigers, Dragons, and Phoenixes, and participated in several group games.

As we entered the games, the elementary and high school students joined together to play Sharks and Minnows, the Number Hug Game, and Red Light Green Light. By the end, all the students had a blast, and these simple games united everyone.

As the elementary students left for their next class, the high school students continued to earn points for their houses. The relay race consisted of a sprint, hula-hooping, jump roping, balancing a ball on a paddle, and finally, a three-legged race, brought laughter to everyone’s faces. The students competed against each other with a fervor and ambition, with Phoenix house rising as victorious. The final game was the infamous “Tug of War”, using their teamwork and strength, the Dragons won!

On this exciting day, the students and teachers gathered and celebrated our teamwork spirit. “When I say IG, you say DVS!” “Let’s show our pride for IGDVS!” IGDVS is not just a name, but indeed, our community, values, and the virtues we strive to live by everyday. So let’s cheer loud, play loud, no matter what house wins, whether it is on the field or in the classroom, we are all part of our amazing community!

Through simple but fun, each student had a fun time together, everyone had a chance to shine themselves, and to enjoy the youth. Let’s cheer for our youth and remember the time that we spend here with each other. Last but not least, it’s been a wonderful experience for our students, thanks to the teachers and our ASB members who hosted this event and thank you to the students from elementary to high school for participating in the Field Day games. Go Dragons!
