Learning Snapshots: Creative Creations

Posted by IGDVS Staff

On a rainy afternoon, K-3 students had a blast exploring their creativity in the aftercare program: salt dough sculpture making and loom knitting.

K-1 students were busy crafting fun and imaginative salt dough sculptures. They created everything from snowmen and crocodiles to spring rolls and tater tots! The possibilities are endless as students mold and shape the dough into whatever they can dream up.

Meanwhile, the 2nd to 3rd graders put their handy skills to use by learning loom knitting. With colorful yarns and focused attention, these students are discovering the art of creating beautiful, knitted pieces with a loom. It’s a great way to enhance fine motor skills while fostering creativity and patience.

Integrating arts into the school program is an essential part of the school’s culture. Whether it’s sculpting with dough or knitting with yarn, students are enjoying every minute of their artistic adventures.
