As many DVBS students groggily arrived at school Friday December 7, some students and teachers were already setting up the Confucius Hall for the annual WinterFest Celebration, a time of joyful gathering and well-wishing. Beginning at 9:00 am, the Chinese orchestra entertained guests by having the DVBS Orchestra play six orchestra songs, two solos and a trio, as well as having the IGBS Orchestra play two songs and a quartet. Afterwards, the senior class sang “Last Christmas” accompanied by guitarists Nuoyan Wang (10) and Alston Liu (9), who later on performed several more guitar duets for the audience. Meanwhile, the kitchen staff led by Mrs. Lau set up the delicious food in the back of the room, whose fragrant aroma permeated through the air into the noses of the mouth-watering students. By 11:00 am, lunch was served and the students merrily ate away. Ending at noon, Friday December 7 encapsulated the second annual DVBS Winterfest Celebration.
