“The small wisdom is like water in a glass: clear, transparent, pure. The great wisdom is like the water in the sea: dark, mysterious, impenetrable.”

-Rabindranath Tagore

A dangerous climb down a slippery slope. The sun’s warm rays, the sand’s smooth feel, swept away by hammering waves of coldness. Whether you’re atop a cliff, gazing upon serene scenery, or in the sea, burning off those calories from that amazing picnic, this trip was filled with 5 hours of fun. The boys residence hall went to Big River Beach, and discovered the treasures of happiness, fun, and friendship.

The trip began with a long drive through the redwoods, before arriving at our first destination. When they found a peaceful location along Highway 1, they exited their car for a peaceful stroll along the ragged cliffs of the Pacific.

Once the students finished their short promenade, they traveled to Big River Beach, at which point the delicious picnic was prepared. Consisting of healthy sandwiches and other snacks, the picnic was quickly devoured by the hungry boys. Finally, the students were given the chance to demonstrate their teamwork       forming teams according to dorm annexes and competing in a castle-building competition.

Special Thanks to our dorm fathers Mr. Justin Hu, Mr. Nakula Hertz, and Mr. Erick Chiang for organizing this event, as well as being awesome chaperones!
