The Youth Summer Camp centered on the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas’ six guiding principles, in honor of Venerable Master Hsuan Hua, the founder’s 20th anniversary of entering nirvana. About 75 youth participated in this year’s girls camp.

The students immersed in a mix of cultural and educational classes such as Chinese calligraphy, recycling, creative writing, and the science behind solar panels. They memorized parts of Buddhist texts; became entrepreneurs that created up-cycled artwork; and engaged in dialogue about the meaning and importance of the six principles. To conclude the camp, the students showcased their new achievements in a talent show.
