In preparation for our annual Honoring Elders Day (HED), our 2nd and 3rd graders engaged in thoughtful conversations about what it truly means to honor the older generations in our lives. They discussed the importance of listening, learning from their experiences, and showing respect through words and actions.

As part of this learning experience, students wrote notes of appreciation to their grandparents, thanking them for the stories, lessons, and care they provide. They also created original poems accompanied by artwork, beautifully expressing their gratitude.
