Gardening Fridays in Full Bloom

Posted by IGDVS Staff

Every Friday, students in grades 4–6 have been rolling up their sleeves and digging into science—literally! With guidance from expert gardener DM Jin Rou, students are transforming their school garden into a vibrant learning space. Through hands-on activities, they explore composting, soil health, plant growth, and insect ecosystems.

From transporting soil and shoveling mulch to building a composting area, students work collaboratively to learn the importance of sustainable gardening. Their efforts paid off recently when they harvested and tasted fresh lettuce grown with their own hands. With herbs sprouting and plant identification lessons underway, even more green discoveries are just around the corner!
