On November 20, 2024, Developing Virtue Secondary School held its first-ever celebration of World Children’s Day hosted by IGDVS parents, in conjunction with UNESCO(a global organization dedicated to emotional intelligence) World Children’s Day.
The event brought together students from the girls’ division, 3rd to 5th-grade boys, and a group of enthusiastic parent volunteers. Each parent managed a booth, creating an engaging and interactive atmosphere for all participants. All the activities can be found from Six Seconds’ online resources, it offers a blend of creativity and emotional growth.
Highlights of the event included:
Circle of Belonging: Fostering connections and inclusivity.
Climate Feelings Frame: Encouraging children to express their thoughts on environmental issues.
Hope into Action: Inspiring students to turn their dreams into actionable steps.
Emotion Garden: Teaching the importance of recognizing and nurturing emotions.
Story Seekers: Enhancing storytelling skills and imagination.
This celebration not only brought joy to the students but also provided a platform to cultivate emotional intelligence and strengthen the sense of community within the school. We learned so much about social-emotional intelligence and got to know ourselves better. Huge thanks to all the amazing parents and participants who helped make this happen! Hope you all took something meaningful away and keep growing on your life journey.
