On Tuesday, September 17th, curiosity and discovery filled the air in the Wonderful Words Hall as the Developing Girls School hosted its first-ever Constitution Day celebration. Doubts and realizations were voiced one after another, creating a lively atmosphere of learning and reflection. The event was organized by Ms. Kravitz’s U.S Government class and after exciting participation from not only all the high school history classes but also the 5th and 6th graders. Together, they eagerly delved deeper into the facts and mysteries surrounding the U.S. Constitution, uncovering its historical significance and ongoing impact on modern society.

During the event, students gave presentations on information about the Indigenous tribes. The presentation was both enlightening and engaging, offering a deep dive into the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of the community. The speakers began by sharing captivating stories that highlighted the tribes’ traditions, values and everyday life, instantly drawing the audiences in.

Shifting to the main focus of our event, students learned about the U.S constitution and Bill of Rights. After students got a deeper understanding of the U.S constitution, everyone engaged in trivia about U.S history and fun facts of the Founding Fathers, and our 5-12th class played a Bill of Rights game to match the amendment to the scenario.

At the end of the event, students had a chance to sign the Declaration of Independence. Thank you to all the students that participated!
