We finally ushered in the long-awaited Field Day!

IGDVS Big and Little Sisters built deeper connections and friendships by playing Simon Says and Banana Tag. The four school houses: White Tigers, Dragons, Phoenixes, and Unicorns had an intense game of Tug Of War, and the Unicorns emerged victorious. We also interviewed IGDVS Nikes and their words on developing athletic skills.

Kelly Zhang
Shine: How have you applied the skills you learned from swimming in your daily life?
Kelly: I learned to enjoy things I don’t like and persevere.
Shine: If you could give advice to someone who wants to start swimming, what advice would you give?
Kelly: If you are not determined and do not have a goal, then don’t become a swimmer because it is very tiring!

Hannah Cheng
Katherine: What was the greatest difficulty that you faced during your hockey-playing phase?
Hannah: One of the greatest hardships is the training. During the summer it would be very hot, and it’s just very tiring and hard to go to the practice every week. Sometimes I would feel like I’m lazy, and I want to quit this game because it is too hard; but later because my friends would be there, I just went there again. It is not that hard after you actually accomplish it.
Katherine: And how do you hope that your sport will impact people?
Hannah: I hope that by playing this sport, people can enjoy their time with their teammates and friends, and learn how to cooperate with each other; since it’s a team sport and you can’t play it on your own. Also, I hope that people can become more healthy from exercising.
