On June 1st, teachers and students of IGDVS gathered together in celebration of the school year coming to an end. The banquet, with the theme of outer space, included a scrumptious meal, performances by students and an award ceremony. 

Performances included “Roseate Clouds Chasing the Moon (彩雲追月)” and “Beautiful Scenery of Su Zhou (姑苏风光)” by the Chinese Orchestra, “Gratefulness (感謝)” by the junior high class, “Counting Stars” by the freshmen class, “I Love My Teacher” by the sophomore class, “The Moon Represents My Heart (月亮代表我的心)” by the junior class, and a skit inspired by Star Wars by the senior class. 

After the delicious meal and lively performances, Jin Jr Shr and Ms. Wang awarded students with their academic achievement awards. Alice Sandel, a graduating senior, received a scholarship award by P.E.O, a local non-profit, promoting educational opportunities for women. Katherine Wang, a junior, received the California State Science Fair Finalist Award along with an Achievement in Scientific Methodology Award from the Mendocino County Office of Education. Many more awards were presented to students for their excellence, effort and academic and character growth in subjects such as math, history, science and English.
