2022 Lunar New Year Chinese Couplets Challenge

Couplets, called 對聯 in Chinese, are two complementary poetic lines that adhere to certain rules, including limits on the number of words as well as the tonal styles of each word. Originating during the Five Dynasties (907-960), couplets have over one thousand years of history and remain an essential part of Chinese culture and tradition.

In celebration of the 2022 lunar new year, IGDVS is hosting a matching couplets challenge. This is also a special event in honor of Venerable Master Hsuan Hua, our school founder, who used matching couplets to teach his students.
