Our local hospital, Adventist Health, has been hosting themed “Spread Hope Not Germs” contests every week. Sophia Heimberg, a 3rd grader, won the art contest this week. The topic was “Gratitude.”

According to Adventist Health, “All children in Mendocino County, ages 3-12 can enter. Create an inspiring piece of art on an 8.5 by 11 piece of paper; it can be a drawing or painting that speaks about the theme for the week. We will have a new theme each week… We will pick one winner every week, who will win a $25 gift card to a local business.”

About the contest, Sophia said, “I am thankful to the nurse[s], doctors and all the medical people to take care of the sick people. I give a gift to them.”
